Radio sailing has grown over the past 5 years, Victoria has
seen new clubs and new classes emerge, promoting radio sailing. There are six
clubs within Victoria that are all affiliated with the VRYA. These Clubs sail an
individual class or a mixture of classes determined by the club's members. The
classes go from the nationally sanctioned One Meters right down to the RC Laser
class and the Micro Magic’s.
Victoria welcomes all classes, encourages and promotes all the new
classes as well. Involving itself in running of state championships, public
open days and open sailing days at a number of Victorian big boat clubs, to
encourage the sport of radio sailing.
The Association, on behalf of the Australian Radio Yachting
Association Inc (ARYA) conducts all aspects of the sport including State
Championships, with club racing being conducted and managed by its member clubs
state wide. The
contacts
shown throughout the site will welcome your enquiries.
Over
the last 2 years Radio sailing has grown in a number of different areas, with
the Laser class number growing down at waterways and with Victoria to host the
Australian Laser Championship in April next year the class should go from
strength to strength.
The
Micro Magic’s also are growing in their numbers, as a good introduction class
for radio sailing, some of these sailors are now looking to move into IOM with
the help of the club at
Patterson River
All
Victorian club’s welcome visitors to their sailing days (found on each club's
website) and encourages people to have a sail. So please have a look through the
Victorian website and if further information is required, please contact the
various club’s or myself.
